This past weekend I attended the Topanga Vintage Market. As a self-proclaimed flea market junkie, this show was a dream. Despite all the fabulous treasures I stumbled across (and believe me there were many), the absolute highlight of my day was watching this little one dance and twirl around. Seeing her light up, not the least bit concerned of everyone watching, brought the biggest smile to my face. Now if we could all be a little more like this...

While walking out of my boot camp class yesterday morning, I heard for the first time "Never Alone" by Lady Antebellum. I was immediately captivated by the simple yet powerful lyrics. Sometimes it's the simplest things that truly resonate the deepest. Everyone, no matter who you are, has experienced heart breaking loneliness of some sort. Loneliness is a universal experience. With that said, I believe that our minds can be our own worst enemy tricking us into thinking we are alone in this. We must always remember that while we all walk our own individual paths, we are also all going through this journey of life t o g e t h e r .

Last Tuesday I attended the Warrior Heart seminar put on by Bill Poett. During the evening he shared with us a beautiful Japanese teaching that has been on my mind ever since...
When the Japanese mend broken objects they aggrandize the damage by filling the cracks with gold, because they believe that when something’s suffered damage and has a history it becomes more beautiful

It is truly through hardships and heartbreaks that we are given the opportunity to both heal and rebuild ourselves into a wiser and more beautifully complex version of our previous selves. Our so-called breaks do not damage us but instead serve as precious reminders of the valleys we have traveled through on our journey and how much stronger we are for it.

Europe has got to be one of my absolute favorite travel destinations. Their joie de vivre (joy of living) is an incredibly refreshing breath of fresh air - especially in contrast to the hamster wheel that is Los Angeles. These photos were taken during a past visit to Cinque Terre, Italy on their historic lovers walk. The padlocks are meant to signify couples eternally sealing their love and devotion for one another. I had fun reading this article on the history of the trail and how it was established in the past as a meeting place for lovers from different towns. Despite doing the walk with a girlfriend, it was so incredibly romantic and made me wonder why there weren't more of these beautiful displays back home. For this and so many other reasons, Europe is truly a magical place.
